These funds will be used to pay pensions, teachers’ salaries, support for IDPs and other priority expenses of the state budget, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal announced today, December 15, in his Telegram channel.
The bulk of this funding package – 1.086 billion – comes from the Government of Japan. The other is grants from the USA, Switzerland and the Fund for Support, Reconstruction and Reform of Ukraine (URTF), Szmigal noted.
The Prime Minister emphasized that financial assistance to international partners gives Ukraine the opportunity to ensure macro-financial stability and direct all internal resources to the needs of the army.
We are grateful to our partners for their solidarity and support,” concluded Szmigal.
