Since the beginning of this year, Australian soldiers have helped train more than 1,200 recruits from Ukraine, the Australian Department of Defense said.

Australia plans to expand its training program for Ukrainian Armed Forces recruits in 2024 as part of Operation Kudu. This was reported by the press service of the Australian Department of Defense.

Australian soldiers have reportedly helped train more than 1,200 recruits from Ukraine since January this year. The latest round of 70 Australian Defense Force (ADF) trainers returned to Darwin this week, with the number of ADF personnel in each round expected to rise to 90 next year.

Australian military trainers will teach Ukrainian recruits the basics of combat, particularly urban and trench warfare, combat first aid, explosives awareness and precision shooting.

Previously, an Australian company produced and transferred to Ukraine the Slinger drone killer system. Another Australian company provided the Ukrainian military with 3D printers for printing spare parts.
