The text of the agreement between Ukraine and the EU provides for the performance of bilateral and transit traffic of Ukrainian carriers without permission. The signing of the document is scheduled for the end of June.
Ukraine and the EU have agreed on the text of an agreement on the liberalization of road transport. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
It was reported that the final consultations between the delegations of Ukraine and the European Commission were held with the participation of the ministry leadership.
According to the report, the text of the agreement provides for the performance of bilateral and transit transportation of Ukrainian carriers without permits. The signing of the document is scheduled for the end of June.
“Thanks to the conclusion of such an agreement, we will be able to significantly improve and speed up logistics between Ukraine and the EU. This is critically important today, when, under the blockade of ports, the Ukrainian economy is fully dependent on stable logistics On the western borders. Correspondingly, we are working on building infrastructure on the border, which will significantly increase throughput on the western borders, “said Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
The ministry states that the limited number of permits for international transport has been a serious problem for Ukrainian carriers over the past five years, because during this period trade turnover in EU countries has almost doubled, and the number of cargo transport by road – by 42%. At the same time, the number of permits for international transport to individual EU countries is declining, which has led to huge losses for both Ukrainian carriers and the country’s economy as a whole.
As emphasized in the Ministry of Infrastructure, the signing of a special agreement on the liberalization of road transport Ukraine-the EU eliminates the need to obtain appropriate permits on an ongoing basis and prevent the cessation of exports of Ukrainian products at checkpoints on the road.
Earlier it was reported that the UN is working on an agreement on grain corridors, which includes unblocking the export of Ukrainian grain by sea, as well as access to global markets for Russian food and fertilizers.
It will be recalled that earlier the head of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said that no grain will go anywhere to anyone until the issue of security of Ukraine is resolved.
