Sights can be installed on machine guns and large-caliber sniper rifles; they are in service in NATO countries.
Soldiers of the Main Intelligence Directorate received 10 professional thermal imaging sights from the Lithuanian manufacturer Brolis from Metinvest. The company’s press service reported this on Thursday, December 14.
“These sights can be installed on machine guns and large-caliber sniper rifles; they are in service in NATO countries. The batch of sights cost UAH 3.5 million; it was transferred to intelligence officer of the Metinvest company as part of businessman Rinat Akhmetov’s military initiative, the Steel Front,” the message said.
The company added that the range of use of the sights is 2.7 km for target detection, 1.4 km for recognition, 1 km for identification.
“We are transferring 10 thermal imaging sights for large-caliber weapons to power steering units – these people are carrying out combat missions in the hot spots of our country,” commented the head of the Metinvest project office, Alexander Vodoviz, on the transfer of aid.
Brolis, in turn, reported that these sights are not sold in Russia and Belarus – this is the manufacturer’s principled position.
Let’s recall that at the end of last month it was reported that Metinvest transferred an electronic warfare dome to the front line near Avdievka, as well as 10 minibuses and 10 drones to the State Border Service.
