The publication iHarstad noted that the Norwegian volunteer was 20 years old. The details of the tragedy are still unknown.
The volunteer from Norway, Stian Meland, who helped the Ukrainian Armed Forces fight the Russian invaders, died in the battles for Ukraine. This was said by the mayor of the municipality of Ibestad, Jim Christiansen, iHarstad reports on Wednesday, December 13.
“It’s very sad when something like this happens,” the Norwegian official stressed.
According to him, he did not know the details of the death, but he was informed of the incident yesterday by the director of the municipality. On the same day, the nearest relative informed the municipality.
The publication noted that the volunteer was 20 years old.
“All resources, both the crisis team and the psychological service, are ready (to help,” ed.), if the relatives want,” added the mayor of the commune.
As we have already written, a 26-year-old volunteer from Spain named Pau, who helped Ukrainians resist the Russian invasion on the side of the Defense Forces, died in Ukraine.
