Riga is convinced that technology and front-line UAVs are essential for saving the lives of military personnel and bringing success to Ukraine as a whole.
Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds initiated the creation of a drone coalition. He said this at a meeting with the head of the Ukrainian defense department, Rustemoi Umerov, in Kyiv on Tuesday, December 12, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported.
It was noted that this was Umerov’s first meeting with the Spruds. They discussed the creation of a new UAV coalition.
Sprudes is confident that the frontline technology and UAVs are essential for saving the lives of military personnel and bringing success to Ukraine as a whole.
Umerov noted that the advantage in UAV capabilities “is often decisive on the battlefield.” He thanked Latvia for supporting Ukraine.
Latvia is also a strong supporter of Ukraine’s entry into NATO, added Defense Minister Spruds.
Earlier, Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics called on Europe and the United States to provide Ukraine with more weapons.
