The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, called the Russian Federation one of the five “truly free countries” in the world.

Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Kirill (Vladimir Gundyaev) called on Russians to thank God for living in a supposedly “truly free country,” adding that he counted “only five such countries .” He said this on Sunday, December 10, during Sunday prayers at the Church of the Sign of the Icon of the Mother of God in Moscow, local media wrote.

According to the rector of the Russian Orthodox Church, Russians live in “abundant times” and should thank God every day they live.

Gundyaev also called for “prayer for our Father,” “for our soldiers,” and for “Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, an Orthodox man who clearly knows the enormous responsibility entrusted to him from above.”

It was previously reported that the Russian Orthodox Church is creating private military companies on the territory of the Russian Federation, which, according to the instructions of the Moscow Patriarchate, are engaged in the recruitment and combat training of mercenaries for the war against Ukraine.

Patriarch Kirill saw “God’s providence” in the emergence of nuclear weapons
