The commander of the US 8th Fighter Wing thanked South Korea’s allies for helping the fighter pilot.
During a training flight on December 11, an American F-16 fighter jet crashed into the Yellow Sea off South Korea. The pilot ejected the plane. This was reported by Kyodo.
The plane took off from Gunsan Air Base, south of Seoul, and suffered an “in-flight emergency” at around 8:43 am local time before crashing into the sea, according to the US Air Force’s 8th Fighter Wing.
It was determined that the pilot was conscious and in a stable condition, he was returned to the airbase. No further details about his condition or information about his name have been released.
