On Thursday, December 7, at an extraordinary government meeting, a decree was approved to provide funds to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to strengthen defense capabilities in front-line regions. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal announced this on December 7 in Telegram.
According to him, the authorities will allocate UAH 759 million for the purchase of automotive equipment, and UAH 29 million for special equipment. This allocated money will make it possible to form additional mine clearance units and significantly speed up the time frame for clearing Ukrainian lands of Russian mines and shells.
Let us recall that on December 2, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense presented an updated concept of the “Mine Clearance Coalition,” which includes elements of “humanitarian demining” of liberated occupied territories and “combat demining” on the line of contact with the Russians.
