On Friday, December 8, Russian troops attacked Kyiv from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft. Air defense forces destroyed all missiles flying in the direction of the capital while still approaching the city. This was announced by the head of the Kyiv city military administration, Sergei Popko.
“After a long pause of 79 days, the enemy resumed the attack with cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft. Earlier, about 10 missile-carrying bombers fired cruise missiles of X-101/ 555/55 type from the area of the city of Engels, Saratov region. The air raid warning continued in the capital for almost two hours. But not a single enemy target reached the city. Through the forces and air defense method, all missiles flying in the direction of Kiev were destroyed while approaching the capital,” he said.
There is no information about casualties and destruction.
“As you can see, the enemy waited for his time and started again to use strategic aviation to attack civilian cities,” said Popko and urged to ignore air raid signals.
The Minister of the Interior of Ukraine, Igor Klimenko, said that in the Kyiv region, due to the fall of debris from the downed Russian missiles, there is information about damage to private houses in some communities.
