Early presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan

The last presidential elections in Azerbaijan were held on April 11, 2018, and they were also unusual.

Early presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024. The corresponding decree was signed today by the country’s President Ilham Aliyev, his press service reported on Thursday, December 7.

The elections were called in accordance with Part I of Article 101 of the Constitution in accordance with Article 179 of the Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Central Election Commission of the country is tasked with ensuring their conduct in the manner established by the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan.

It is known that the elections in Azerbaijan should take place only in 2025. The last time the presidential elections in this country were held on April 11, 2018, and they were also rare.

Then the current President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, won the election for the fourth consecutive time with 86.53% of the votes.

It was previously known that the date for the presidential election has been set in Russia. Russians will vote for Vladimir Putin on March 17, 2024.
