Western media, citing US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, reported that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will address senators in a secret briefing via secure video conference.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky canceled an online briefing for senators of the United States of America, where he was supposed to discuss the situation at the front and Kyiv’s needs for weapons. Chuck Schumer, leader of the Democratic majority in the US Senate, announced this on Tuesday, December 5, reports CNN reporter Manu Raju.
“Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Ukrainian President Zelensky will not attend the secret briefing due to a last-minute issue,” the report said.
Schumer announced the day before that Zelensky would address US senators in a closed briefing via secure video conference to update them on the state of war.
Zelensky also failed to show up for a virtual briefing of the Ukrainian House of Representatives, the lawmakers said.
The head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk are currently on an official visit to the United States.
We remind you that Zelensky intends to talk to American senators in a secret briefing on Tuesday, December 5, through a secure video link.
