Person of the Year 2023: Time reveals the list of contenders

The magazine included Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping on its list of finalists.

The American magazine Time has announced nine candidates for the title of Person of the Year 2023. It was reported on the website of the publication on Monday, December 4.

The publication includes Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese leader Xi Jinping, British King Charles III and Federal Reserve System (FRS) chief Jerome Powell on the list of finalists.

The list of contenders also includes the heroine of the film Barbie director Greta Gerwig, prosecutors for former US President Donald Trump, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and participants in the Hollywood strike.

Expected Person of the Year 2023 will be announced on Wednesday morning.

We remind you that in 2022 the title Person of the Year according to Time, received by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and the “spirit of Ukraine”. The magazine then mentions his leadership role during the Russian general war.
