According to him, the permit system in force until April 2022 regulated the transport market “equivalently and fairly,” writes Reuters.
Permits were discontinued after February 24, 2022. Polish carriers blocking traffic at the border want the border crossing permit regime to be resumed on January 1.
Poland and Ukraine are jointly developing measures to unblock the border. This was reported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure.
At the end of last week, a meeting was held in Warsaw between the Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Sergei Derkach and the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland Rafal Weber.
Agreed parties to the event:
Opening the Ugrinov-Dolgobychev checkpoint for the passage of empty trucks to increase border capacity and reduce loading at other checkpoints.
The system creates a queue of separate passes for empty vehicles at the checkpoints “Yagodin – Dorogusk” and “Krakovets – Korczowa”. It is at these checkpoints that there are physical lanes for empty vehicles directly at the checkpoint on both the Ukrainian and Polish sides.
Launch of a pilot project with registration in a queue immediately before crossing the border at the Nizhankovichi – Malchowice checkpoint for a period of one month.
The issue of cancellation or changes to the “transport visa-free” clause was not discussed.
On November 27, President Andrzej Duda took the oath of office to the new government of Mateusz Morawiecki. The new government does not have the support of a majority in the Polish Sejm, therefore, most likely, it will not receive a vote of confidence and will work until a maximum of December 13.
The likely new Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused the government led by Morawiecki of inaction to resolve the issue of blocking the border by Polish carriers.
