According to him, “any member of Congress who does not support funding for Ukraine is voting for an outcome that will make it easier for Putin to win.”
Sullivan added that voting against additional funding for Ukraine would “hurt Ukraine and help Russia.”
That is, a vote against supporting Ukraine is a vote for improving Putin’s strategic positions.
It’s just an inevitable reality. It will hinder democracy and help dictators. And we believe that this is a wrong lesson from history, and every member of Congress – Democrat and Republican – should vote in support of this decision,” the White House official added.
Another statement of support for Ukraine was made in the United States today.
To support Ukraine, we now rely on residual funds; more than 97% of resources have already been exhausted, – US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.
Very soon the funds will run out altogether, so yes, we are very concerned. That’s why the president and his administration are calling on Congress to act quickly, Miller said.
Miller assessed the situation on the battlefield as difficult, because the Ukrainian Armed Forces have to overcome well-fortified Russian defenses.
We saw that they made progress, the progress was hard. We have seen that they continue to make progress. And when we were in Brussels last week, we spoke directly with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister about additional funding, he added.
