The tragedy occurred on June 18, 2023 in the village of Kuty. The man beat, raped and strangled the boy, and later that night, law enforcement found the boy’s body near the Cheremosh River.
A 34-year-old man who raped and then killed his 9-year-old nephew will go on trial in the Carpathian region. This was reported by the press service of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional prosecutor’s office.

“According to the investigation, that day around three o’clock in the afternoon the woman left home to see her brother, and was followed by a 34-year-old relative who was visiting her father. On the way, took advantage of man the fact that the girl knew him and trusted him, suggested a shortcut. He lured the girl to a forest near the river, and there he forced her to strip, beat, raped and strangled her. At night, law officers discovered execution of the child’s body near the Cheremosh River,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
Let’s recall that in the Lviv region, a court convicted a man guilty of raping a 12-year-old girl. The accused was sent to prison for 10 years.
