This was stated by the country’s Minister of Infrastructure Alvin Gadjadhur, the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland reports.
We are in constant dialogue with the transport industry. At the last meeting, we agreed that government services would strengthen inspections of trucks at the Polish-Ukrainian border. This was one of the demands of the industry,” he said.
Today we show that we keep our word: the Road Transport Inspectorate, the State Tax Administration, the Border Service and the police have sent additional forces to this region, the minister added.
Gajadhur also said that the Polish government will also take measures in European institutions “aimed at eliminating unfair competition in the transport market.”
He said that the upcoming EU Transport Council summit, scheduled for December 4, “is the moment when the EU should raise the issue of the consequences of removing the requirement for Ukrainian drivers to have entry permits into the EU.”
Since November 6, Polish carriers began to block the movement of trucks at three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine: Grebnoye – Rava-Russkaya, Korcheva – Krakovets, Dorogusk – Yagodin. On November 23, the blockade also covered the Medika checkpoint.
