The authorized strength of the Russian Armed Forces is set at 2,209,130 people, including 1,320,000 military personnel.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has signed a decree that provides for an increase in the number of military personnel in the Russian army by 170 thousand people. The document was published on the website of the Kremlin and will take effect from the day it is signed, RosSMI reports.
It was noted that the staffing level of the Russian Armed Forces is set at 2,209,130 people, including 1,320,000 military personnel.
In the previous order on the size of the army, which went into effect on January 1, 2023 and became invalid, this number was 2,039,758 people, including 1,150,628 military personnel.
As stated in the Russian Ministry of Defense, due to the increase in the number of armed forces, there are no plans to mobilize the country or increase conscription for military service.
Let’s recall that the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, signed the law on the federal budget of the Russian Federation for 2024, which was previously adopted by the Russian State Duma. The Russian Federation will spend 10.775 trillion rubles next year on “national defense.” A terrorist country returns to the reality of the Soviet era. In recent years, the USSR spent a third of its budget on defense.
As reported, the ruling regime of the Russian Federation planned to form another army army, seven divisions, 19 brigades, 49 regiments and a flotilla in the Russian Armed Forces next year.
