Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba rejected rumors about fatigue with Ukraine in European capitals and called the phrase about the “elephant in the room” that a journalist used to describe these rumors at the Foreign Minister’s press conference with Josep Borrell unfair.

I think this idiom is unfair to elephants. Elephants are very wise animals, very sympathetic, very energetic. And if you are a member of the herd, they always protect each other, no matter what condition they are in,” Kuleba said.
Firstly, all the right and good elephants are on our side, and secondly, we are members of the herd. This means that elephants will protect us as much as we contribute to their protection,” he added.

In addition, the minister clarified that he is not under pressure on Ukraine to begin negotiations with Russia, and also stated that the future EU sanctions package will include measures to suppress Russia’s ability to produce missiles and drones.
Four important solutions are in the pipeline. The sanctions package that Josep mentioned, we appreciate the ongoing efforts. I would like to highlight one specific element of this sanctions proposal, namely measures aimed at suppressing Russia’s ability to produce missiles and drones. Some of these measures have already been included in the package and we look forward to their adoption by member states,” Kuleba said at a joint briefing with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, in Brussels.
