Starting Friday, December 1, Google will begin deleting accounts that have not been used for two years or more. The company announced these plans back in May. Thus, the platform intends to improve the security of its services.
.in_text_content_22 { width: 300px; height: 600px; } @media(min-width: 600px) { .in_text_content_22 { width: 580px; height: 400px; } }
According to Google, older accounts are more likely to be protected by weaker passwords and less likely to use two-factor authentication, making them vulnerable to hacking, phishing and spam.
Accounts that have never been visited after creation will be deleted first. Google accounts include mail, text documents, cloud storage, and more. When you delete your account, all files associated with it will also disappear.
At the same time, Google will not touch the accounts to which YouTube channels are linked, as well as books and films purchased online. Accounts with gift card balances will also be preserved.
