Hundreds of equipment units from the State Service for Emergency Situations are involved in eliminating the consequences of bad weather; police, National Guard and utility services also work.
Due to bad weather in the Odessa region, five people died and 19 others were injured. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on Monday, November 27, in his video message published on Telegram.
“Unfortunately, so far, there have been deaths. Most of them were in the Odessa region, five people, my condolences to their families and friends. At least 19 people were injured, all of them received help is needed,” he said.
Zelensky also noted that due to bad weather conditions, about 1,500 settlements in 17 regions were cut off.
The President thanked the rescuers, drivers, and National Guardsmen who showed themselves to help people during the blizzard.
“Electricity engineers are working everywhere to resume supplies. Soon, every city, every settlement will receive electricity. Right now, from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, hundreds of people and hundreds of devices work around the clock,” Zelensky said.
He added that the country continues to battle bad weather and now the epicenter of the typhoon is moving to the northern region.
About six thousand employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as a large amount of heavy equipment, including military equipment, are involved in the work to eliminate the consequences of bad weather.
