This was reported by the Militarny publication with reference to a video published by the NMFTE Telegram channel.
According to Andrei Tarasenko, a well-known armored vehicle researcher, the new combat module was developed by a Ukrainian company and began to be delivered after the start of the invasion, the publication notes.
This remote controlled module is equipped with:
- stabilized 30-mm automatic cannon 2A72;
- 7.62 mm PKT machine gun;
- automatic grenade launcher KBA-117;
- it should also be equipped with a Barrier anti-tank missile system with two missiles, but they are not shown in the video. Missile launchers may be omitted to simplify the design.
All components of the weapons and ammunition are located inside the combat module above the body of the combat vehicle; the operator’s workplace can be located anywhere in the vehicle,” the publication notes.
It is noted that the module’s armament is stabilized by a balancing system and a special truss using a set of counterweights in the form of a swing. It is stated that thanks to the measures taken, stabilization and accuracy of fire were improved by 25%.
Structurally, the tower is similar to an earlier development – the Volya module developed by Nova Technology, presented in January 2021. It is possible that they may be related, given that the development of such a design takes years, the publication notes.
