A Russian T-62 tank of a previously unseen modification, partially unified with the T-90M tank, was spotted at the front.

As Militarny writes, a photo of the new car was published by the Russians.
In the forests around Kremennaya, the Russians are using a previously unseen modification of the Soviet T-62 tank, which received an upgrade kit designed for installation on the most modern Russian T-90M tanks.
“Military” writes that judging by the metal-ceramic additional protection module on the upper frontal part, we can say that the presented tank was built on the basis of the late Soviet T-62M from the early 1980s.
The fact that this is a modernization kit, and not a full-fledged turret from the T-90M on the chassis of an old Soviet tank, can be judged by the 115 mm gun.
In addition, this is also signaled by the crookedly installed dynamic protection units on the cast turret and the exposed large gap between them and the tank’s hull.
The cast T-62M turret was equipped with the Relikt dynamic protection kit, designed for the welded T-90 turret, which is why it has significant curvature on the right “cheek”.
The vehicle received super-tracked “shelves”, inside of which elements of dynamic protection can also be placed. However, the frontal protection did not receive a dynamic protection kit and remained unchanged.
The tank’s electronics and sighting system were significantly modernized. He received the Sosna-U sighting system with a thermal imaging channel. However, it is unknown whether it is adapted to work with the ballistics of the 115 mm U-5TS Molot cannon.
Compared to the T-90M, the vehicle lacks a panoramic gunner’s sight with a coaxial machine gun mount, as well as a wind sensor. On the tower you can see technical holes for installing laser radiation warning sensors, but they themselves are missing.
Overall, the tank’s modernization appears to be of poor quality and looks more like an attempt to improve protection within the purview of a maintenance battalion. However, the installation of a new gunner’s sight may indicate that the work was performed at a tank building plant.
