Beijing has not officially confirmed media reports about the creation of a consortium with Russia for the construction of an underwater tunnel.
Beijing considers unfounded media reports about Russia’s alleged plan to build an underwater tunnel to Crimea with the participation of Chinese companies. Chinese Foreign Ministry Speaker Wang Wenbin said this in response to Ukrinform’s question at a press conference on Monday, November 27.
“This report is baseless, I will not comment on it,” Wang Wenbin said.
Let’s recall that on November 24, The Washington Post reported that Russian and Chinese businessmen associated with the governments of their countries secretly discussed in October a plan to build an undersea tunnel between Russia and of temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea. It is claimed that a “consortium” has been created for this purpose.
Meanwhile, the SBU said the Crimean Bridge was “destroyed” and announced a series of “surprises” for the Russian invaders.
