In Ukraine, two power units of the thermal power plant were taken out for emergency repair. The Ministry of Energy reported this on Sunday, November 26.
“Two units of the thermal power plant have gone under emergency short-term repairs. There is also a reserve available if required,” the message said.
It is argued that the energy system is balanced. There have been no power outages in the past 24 hours, and none are expected today. Electricity restrictions do not apply in any area.
Today in the Kyiv region repairs continue on the main line that was damaged as a result of shelling the previous day. Restrictions on electricity supply in Kyiv and in the region are not applied because of this.
It was also reported that a transformer caught fire at one of Ukrenergo’s substations in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The fire was extinguished within hours.
As of Sunday morning, there was no electricity in 529 communities due to bad weather, technological violations and military operations.
Due to worsening weather conditions (strong winds, snowstorms), daylight problems are possible in Kyiv, Cherkassy, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kirovograd regions. Power engineers are ready to work in enhanced mode, the report said.
Earlier this week, Ukraine’s energy grid experienced outages for two days in a row. We had to attract emergency aid from EU countries.
It has also been reported that thermal power plants are being inspected in Ukraine due to emergency repairs. Recently, seven power units underwent emergency repairs.
