In Kyiv, the Swiss leader will take part in an international summit on food security. A meeting with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is also planned. Berse reported this on the social network X (Twitter).
According to him, during negotiations with the Ukrainian authorities the main focus will be on the impact of a full-scale Russian war on global food security and long-term support for Ukraine from Switzerland.
Berset emphasized that Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine violated all principles of international law in accordance with the UN Charter.
The Swiss president also published a photo from the railway station in Kyiv.
Let us recall that in November Switzerland finally agreed on the return sale of 25 Leopard 2 tanks to Germany. According to some experts, the transfer of Swiss tanks to Germany could have positive consequences for Ukraine, because the agreement does not prohibit the export of other military vehicles from the allied stocks to Ukraine, the place of which could be taken by Swiss tanks.
