Israel wants to release 150 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for 50 of its citizens (thirteen of whom are already being handled by the Red Cross).
Hamas militants began freeing hostages during the peace deal with Israel. The first group was sent to a border checkpoint between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. This was reported by The Times of Israel on Friday, November 24.
The report states that thirteen hostages – mothers with children – are being cared for by Red Cross workers, they are traveling from Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip to the Rafah checkpoint. Relatives are waiting for them in hospitals in Israel.
Israel and Hamas have agreed to a four-day truce. During the ceasefire, the militants will release about 50 hostages – mothers with children and other women.
In exchange for 50 of its citizens, Israel intends to release 150 Palestinian prisoners.
Official Jerusalem is ready to extend the truce for another day if Hamas releases more hostages.
The terrorists held a total of 240 people.
We remind you that the four-day truce between Israel and the Palestinian radical group Hamas began at 7:00 on November 24, which was concluded through the mediation of Qatar.
As we have already written, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that after the ceasefire, Israel will intensify its military operations against Hamas, and that it generally plans to fight for at least two months.
