Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service detained a representative of one of the village councils in the Kherson region, who defected to the enemy during the capture of the region. The SBU press service reported this on Friday, November 24.
It was noted that the attacker was a member of the banned Party of Regions, and at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he encountered rows of Russian troops entering the territory of the community.
During the occupation of the region, he was one of the first to offer his “help” to the invaders in the war against Ukraine. To do this, he began to widely “surrender” to the aggressor the location of members of the resistance movement and members of their families.
One of the first “surrenders” of the traitor was his father, who had a pro-Ukrainian position and opposed Russia’s armed aggression. The patriotic father was taken to a local torture chamber in Russia. There they used a lot of torture on him in an attempt to get him to cooperate.
At the same time, the renegade representative was appointed to the occupation administration created in the territory of the community under the leadership of Gauleiter Vladimir Saldo. In the pseudo-institution, the person involved is responsible for distributing “humanitarian aid” from the Russian Federation to supporters of the Kremlin regime.
The traitor also repeatedly participated in robbing the houses of local residents and kidnapping people who fought against the invaders and their henchmen.
In addition, the defendant, on his own initiative, was “on duty” with weapons at Russian checkpoints and “quartered” the invaders in the homes of citizens who left for the territory controlled by Ukraine.
After the liberation of the village, he remained in the territory of the community, where he tried to “get down” and thus avoid justice. SBU officers found the traitor and detained him.
During the searches, his passport as a citizen of the Russian Federation, received in June 2022, a party card of the banned Party of Regions, propaganda symbols of the Russian Federation and other material evidence of illegal activity is confiscated.
The detainee was informed of the suspicion of treason and collaboration. The man was chosen as a preventive measure – detention. The attacker faces life in prison.
