Madrid even apologized to Germany “for the suspense and pressure put on the chancellor,” the press wrote.

German authorities have rejected Spain’s plans to move approximately 40 German Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine after their modernization. Spiegel writes about it, citing government sources.

German authorities warned the Spanish side in telephone conversations that the move was a retreat from the decision – albeit informal – taken by all Western allies not to provide tanks in Ukraine.

The editors of Business Insider in Germany wrote that Madrid even apologized to Germany “for the suspense and pressure put on the chancellor.”

At the same time, it was reported that 100 Marder infantry fighting vehicles for Ukraine are being modernized in Germany.

It was previously reported that the IRIS-T missile system promised by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will arrive in Ukraine in October.

Correspondent.net explained why Germany delayed the supply of weapons.
