The release day for Israeli captives held in the Gaza Strip has been postponed to Friday, November 24.
The release of hostages from the Gaza Strip will begin no earlier than Friday, November 24. This was said by the head of the Israeli National Security Council, Tzachi Hanegbi, reports The Times of Israel.
“The exit will begin in accordance with the original agreement between the parties, and not earlier than Friday,” he said.
Hanegbi explained that the delay was due to the need to sign a document between Israel and Hamas ratifying the agreement. It must be signed within 24 hours, after which the first captives will be released.
According to Israeli media reports, the first hostages are scheduled to be released on November 23.
Israel has developed an agreement for the return of the hostages, which consists of five stages.
In the first phase, Hamas will hand over the captives to the Red Cross, then hand them over to IDF representatives. The hostages will be examined and taken to a medical center in Israel, where they will meet their families.
In the fourth stage, medical and security agencies will check the health of the captives to determine which of them can be interrogated. In the final stage, the relevant persons will be interrogated by the law enforcement and defense departments.
Let’s recall that on November 22, the Israeli government accepted an agreement with Hamas on the release of approximately 50 hostages abducted in the terrorist attack on October 7 in exchange for a ceasefire.
Hamas plans to release 30 abducted children, eight mothers and 12 women during the five-day ceasefire.
