The occupation administration ordered the directors of the controlled schools to talk to the parents to sign a waiver for their children to study Ukrainian.
In schools in the occupied territories, it is temporarily possible to attend Ukrainian language classes if there is an application from parents. At the same time, the discontent of the occupiers is growing because even despite the pressure and threats made on parents, the number of applications to study Ukrainian is much greater than the Kremlin expected. The Center for National Resistance reported this on Wednesday, November 22.
“Because of this, there are not enough textbooks in the region, because for such lessons the Russians print their textbooks in the Ukrainian language with stories about “brotherly people” and giving justification for the occupation. However, the number of copies (that) were brought to the temporarily occupied territories is less than those who want to learn their own language,” – said the message.
The occupation administration found a way out of the situation. The occupiers instructed the directors of the schools under their control to talk to the parents so that their children refuse to study their own language.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk told the Only News telethon that Russia has created a “so-called state children’s bank” for deported Ukrainian children.
In total, the Russians deported 11 thousand Ukrainian children from the occupied territories.
