SBU officers detained a resident of Volchansk, who was spying on Ukraine’s defense lines on the Russian border.
The security service detained another FSB agent who was collecting intelligence information about the deployment and movement of the Defense Forces on the borders of the Kharkov region. The SBU press service reported this on November 22.
Above all, the Russian Federation is interested in the possible directions of movement of heavy armored vehicles and artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including howitzers and multiple launch rocket systems in the area of liberated Volchansk.
In order to roughly establish such “routes,” the person involved walked around the area looking for traces of tank tracks. He also asked for “necessary” information from his local acquaintances under the guise of everyday conversation.
In addition, the Russian agent tried to find out the locations of SBU and National Police units near the Russian border.
In the event of the “arrival” of the enemy, the attacker collects information about their consequences and “reports” to the invaders.
Another of his tasks was to create his own network of informants, which included as many residents of the liberated areas of the Kharkov region as possible.
SBU officers found the attacker and detained him during further reconnaissance on the border of the region.
The Russian agent turned out to be a 41-year-old resident of Volchansk, who was remotely recruited by a career FSB officer in July of this year. The aggressor noticed the man because of his pro-Kremlin views, which he repeatedly made public to those around him.
After recruitment, the traitor received instructions from the Russian intelligence service on how to conduct reconnaissance and subversive activities and chose the operational pseudonym “Lexus.” To contact the FSB, the henchman used anonymous chats on a popular messenger.
During a search of the detainee’s place of residence, a mobile phone used for communication with the FSB was seized.
Security Service investigators informed the Russian agent of suspicion of treason committed under martial law. Currently, a preventive measure has been chosen for him – detention. The investigation is ongoing. The attacker faces life in prison.
We would like to remind you that earlier in the Dnepropetrovsk region, an employee of a strategic enterprise was exposed as sending data about the location of the Ukrainian military to the enemy. And the traitor who “smuggled” Russian equipment around Kyiv was sentenced to 15 years.
