The Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland emphasized that the border blockade is taking place during the inter-governmental period: the former Polish government has resigned, and the new one has not yet been formed.
On Thursday, November 23, farmers plan to join the Polish carriers’ protest as a sign of solidarity and intend to hold three days of action. Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Vasily Zvarych said this in an interview with Radio Liberty.
It is reported that, according to preliminary data, the farmers do not plan to block the border, but they want to organize a walking procession.
“There should be a procession along the pedestrian crossing, but one way or another, it will again complicate the border traffic. Accordingly, we ask, we appeal to the Polish side not to allow this to happen, because, speaking, there is still a situation on the border, tragic,” said Zvarych.
The ambassador emphasized that the border blockade is taking place during the inter-governmental period: the former Polish government has resigned, and a new one has not yet been formed.
“No one wants to take responsibility for solving this problem properly, so it is very dangerous after all. I hope that common sense will prevail and the responsibility of politicians, mainly at the local level, but this path will be found and found a language that will convince the protesters not to take this next step, which will significantly complicate life not only in Ukraine, but also here in Poland,” added Zvarych.
We remind you that on November 6, a strike by Polish carriers began on the Polish-Ukrainian border. They are demanding the abolition of the transport visa-free regime for Ukraine. After a few days, queues formed tens of kilometers long. On Sunday morning, November 19, some 4,600 trucks were gathered at the Polish border.
