In case of such changes, the authorities will inform the public. Thus, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, during a joint press conference with his German colleague Boris Pistorius, answered journalists’ questions about the possibility of dismissing the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Naev and the commander of the operational-strategic group of troops “Tavria” Alexander Tarnavsky.
The topic regarding the change of commanders covers all the parameters that we discuss in our internal perimeter. In this regard, it should be said that the decision has not yet been made, but we are doing everything possible to increase efficiency. And if this happens, we will communicate with you very openly,” the head of the Ministry of Defense noted.
According to Umerov, if the dismissal of commanders occurs, then such things “happen either on issues that arose earlier, or are discussed so that we achieve greater efficiency.”
Let us recall that the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov stated that the dismissal of the commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Khorenko was carried out on his recommendation. He did not explain the reasons for Khorenko’s dismissal.
