The incident occurred Thursday at 2pm at the Mars Wrigley plant in Elizabeth Town.
Officials said the two men were working with an outside contractor and did not know how they got into the tub. Officials said ambulance personnel were able to free the couple by making a hole in the bottom of the tank.
It is not known if anyone was injured, but they were taken to the hospital for investigation. Their names and further details of their condition were not disclosed.
The Federal Administration of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the accident. An OSHA official declined to comment on the matter, citing an ongoing investigation.
