Rainy weather has slowed the pace of fighting in eastern and southern Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to defend Avdiivka from a strong enemy group and maintain the initiative on the southern front. But it is premature to talk about Russian victories, since this will create erroneous ideas about the situation on the battlefield. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported this with reference to a Russian milibloger.
However, the second so-called military correspondent said that Ukrainian infantry was attacking the positions of the invaders in the western part of the Zaporozhye region, despite the fact that bad weather prevented the use of armored vehicles in this area.
ISW also cited British intelligence and added that the immediate prospects for major changes on the front line are diminishing with the onset of winter. Experts say the freezing weather will likely encourage more active fighting to resume. And now neither side has achieved significant progress in the Kupyansky, Avdeevsky directions or on the left bank of the Kherson region, where the most intense fighting continues.
Let us recall that in early November, President Vladimir Zelensky stated that Ukraine would still try to achieve success on the battlefield in 2023, despite the difficulties with the counter-offensive. He noted that Kyiv has a plan – very specific cities and directions where the Ukrainian army is moving.
