Elon Musk’s company SpaceX launched the Starship spacecraft for the second time, designed to transport astronauts to the Moon, but the signal from the ship disappeared after 15 minutes. The press service of the company writes about it.
The two stages of the rocket reportedly separated minutes after launch, but the lower part of the rocket exploded soon after. The upper part continued to fly for several hours, but then it exploded. It was assumed that the Starship was supposed to fly around the Earth and then fall into the Pacific Ocean.
Later it became known that the Starship was probably destroyed, but SpaceX believes that the test will still help “increase the reliability” of the ship in the future.
It was previously reported that SpaceX was authorized to make a second test flight of the Starship.
We remind you that the first test orbital flight of Starship was supposed to take place on April 17, but it was canceled 40 seconds before launch due to problems with one of the carrier pressure valves.
On April 20, the experimental Starship rocket developed by SpaceX exploded in the Gulf of Mexico four minutes after launch.
