France has successfully tested the new M51.3 intercontinental ballistic missile. This was announced by the country’s Minister of Defense Sebastien Lecornu in Twitter on the evening of Saturday, November 18th.

“First successful test launch of the M51.3 strategic ballistic missile! This development maintains confidence in our nuclear deterrent and demonstrates the efficiency of our launch sector,” he wrote.

In this regard, the Directorate General of Armament of the French Ministry of Defense (DGA) clarified that the launch was carried out from a training ground in Biscarossy. The missile does not have a nuclear charge. His flight was fully controlled and ended in an area “several hundred kilometers from any coast.”
