Vladimir Putin expressed surprise at “how Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Glinka could be banned.”
The aggressor country, Russia, will not close the “window” to Europe, although “when the wind blows,” opinions appear that something may be “closed”. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a cultural forum in St. Petersburg on Friday, November 17.
“When it blows, you think maybe you should cover it so as not to catch a cold. But we have good weather, you know,” Putin said and boasted about Russia’s economic growth of 5.5% last month .
He cynically assured that Russia does not want to cut ties with anyone and does not close anything – “neither doors, nor ventilation, nor windows.”
“We don’t have any conflict with European society. We have trouble with the European elites… If someone decides to isolate themselves, that’s their business, they are robbing themselves,” the Russian President said.
Putin also expressed surprise at “how Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Glinka could be banned.”
“We are not doing this. I’m sure time will put everything in its place,” he concluded.
In the past, Vladimir Putin has said that he has “real German friends,” and that he maintains friendships with all of them, despite sanctions and the war in Ukraine.
