President Vladimir Zelensky signed a law redirecting “military personal income tax” from local budgets to the army. Thus, the state budget will receive UAH 214.7 billion for military spending.

From October 1 to December 31, 2023, “military personal income tax” is sent to the State Special Communications Service for drones – 13 billion UAH and to the Ministry of Defense for artillery systems – 13 billion UAH.
From January 1 until December 31 of the year in which martial law was terminated or cancelled, “military personal income tax” is distributed as follows: 45% – to the State Special Communications Service for UAVs (forecast 43 billion UAH), 45% – to the Ministry of Strategic Industry for the production of ammunition and weapons (43 billion UAH), 10% – to military units.
On November 8, the Verkhovna Rada approved the law on military personal income tax in general. Parliamentarians assure that from now on the money that communities spent on cobblestones, steles and flower beds will definitely be spent on the needs of the military.
