A citizen of Ukraine filed a statement with the State Bureau of Investigation about the alleged commission of a crime by the People’s Deputy, the National Police said.
Law enforcement officials initiated criminal proceedings following an appeal from a group of people’s representatives regarding a false report of a crime. The National Police reported this on Thursday, November 16.
“The Shevchenko Police Department received a statement from the representatives of the people of Ukraine about the possible commission of a criminal offense by a citizen of Ukraine, consisting of the intentional false reporting of a crime, in particular the submitting an application to the State Bureau of Investigation regarding the commission of a crime by a representative of the people,” the message said.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings under the article on deliberately falsely reporting a criminal offense (Part 1 of Article 383 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The police did not name the suspect, but RBC-Ukraine says that we are talking about a former adviser to the Office of the President, Alexey Arestovich.
Earlier on Thursday, People’s Deputy Natalya Pipa said that criminal proceedings had been opened against Arestovich.
Let’s recall that in early October, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs put Alexey Arestovich on the wanted list.
