Former Russian police officer Sergei Khadzhikurbanov, who was sentenced to 20 years for mediation in organizing the murder of Politkovskaya, was released from prison early. The attacker went to war against Ukraine, and ended up at the front as an occupier at the end of 2022. This was reported by the Russian Telegram channel “Baza”.
It is noted that the convict began service as commander of an intelligence department, and then became a battalion commander. And six months later, after which prisoners usually receive a pardon, Khadzhikurbanov renewed his contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Lawyer Alexey Mikhalchik confirmed that Khadzhikurbanov left the colony early and became an occupier. The prisoner first signed the contract as a prisoner, and is now fighting in Ukraine as a “civilian military man.”
In June 2014, the Moscow City Court sentenced natives of Chechnya Rustam Makhmudov and Lom-Ali Gaitukayev, recognized as the perpetrator and organizer of the murder of Politkovskaya, to life imprisonment. And the court recognized former policeman Sergei Khadzhikurbanov as a mediator in the crime and sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
As you know, Anna Politkovskaya was killed in October 2006 in the entrance of her house in Moscow. The investigation considers her journalistic activities to be the motive for the crime, but the name of the customer has not yet been named.
Let us recall that British intelligence reported that large elements of the Wagner PIK could be assimilated into the command structure of the Russian Guard, and the militants are headed by the son of the former head of the Wagnerites, Evgeniy Prigozhin, Pavel.
