On the night of November 14, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for a parliamentarian suspected of high treason. At the request of prosecutors, he was sent to a pre-trial detention center for 60 days without the right to post bail. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The people’s deputy himself commented on the decision on Telegram. He stated that he was taken into custody for criticizing the current government.
That is, it is called “New Year in a pre-trial detention center” for criticizing the authorities. I wonder if there will be tangerines,” said the parliamentarian.
Let us remind you that on November 13, law enforcement officers handed over to People’s Deputy Alexander Dubinsky a suspicion of high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He is accused of information and subversive activities in favor of Russia. According to investigators, Dubinsky had the call sign “Buratino” and was part of a criminal organization that formed the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, known as the GRU.
He is also suspected of organizing a scheme to travel abroad; he was informed of suspicion for helping an evader. In this case, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv placed Dubinsky under 24-hour house arrest. In addition, he was handed a protocol on an administrative offense related to corruption.
