Results 13.11: Betrayal of the representatives of the people and scandal with Farion

The current representative of the people of Ukraine is suspected of treason. The SBU reported it. The intelligence service did not name the representative of the people, but from the case materials it is clear that we are talking about Alexander Dubinsky. According to the investigation, he has the call sign “Buratino” and is part of a criminal organization formed by the Main Directorate of the General Staff (GUR) of the Russian Armed Forces. Members of the group must undermine the socio-political situation in Ukraine and discredit our state in the international arena. On Monday morning, the media reported about searches at Dubinsky’s place. In the evening, the court chose a preventive measure for the representative of the people in the form of detention for two months.

The Lychakivskyi court of Lvov issued a guilty verdict in the case of former people’s representative from OPZZh Ilya Kiva. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison with confiscation of assets. The court found Kiva guilty of committing criminal offenses under four articles, one of which is treason. Kiva himself is now in hiding in the Russian Federation, and the trial took place without his participation.

Simferopol University student Maxim Glebov is imprisoned in occupied Crimea after Ukrainian activist Irina Farion published his letter supporting his position. The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmitry Lubinets, appealed to the Security Service of Ukraine with a call to respond to Farion’s actions. The Ombudsman believes that the former Rada deputy “committed a crime” and “played with the occupiers,” putting the student’s safety at risk. Farion himself denied the accusation, calling it a “provocation.”

European F-16 Fighter Training Center opened in Romania, where Ukrainian pilots will be trained. This was reported by the Romanian Ministry of Defense. According to the cooperation agreement, Romania provided an airbase for exercises, the Netherlands provided F-16 aircraft, and the American corporation Lockheed Martin provided instructors and services. It is expected that the training of Ukrainians at the training center in Fetesti will last at least six months.

The High Qualification Commission of Judges (HQCJ) of Ukraine continues to assess the qualifications of judges for suitability to the position held. 1,884 judges of local and appellate courts from all over Ukraine must undergo this assessment. The Public Council of Virtue joined the interview stage, “which should assist the commission in establishing the compliance of a judge or a candidate for the position of a judge with the standard of professional ethics and virtue.” The last meeting on the procedure for assessing the qualification of judges for suitability for the position held was held on November 5, 2019, and two days later the powers of the members of the Commission of the second term were terminated.

In 10 years, the population of Ukraine went from 26 to 35 million people within the 1991 borders. This forecast was voiced by the director of the Institute of Demography and Social Research, Ella Libanova. According to him, it will be “worse than anyone can imagine.” Libanova named migration as the main driver of demographic dynamics, to which several other problems were added.

Ukraine will remain a top priority for the European Union. At the same time, there is no fatigue from the obligations to help the country. This was said by the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, who commented on the results of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union. According to him, the EU is working on future security obligations to Ukraine. The European Union is also considering several initiatives to help Ukraine.

The Russian aggressors carried out massive shelling in the center of Kherson. Six people were injured, two of them died. A 62-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man died of their injuries. At the same time, two men were hospitalized in the surgical department: a 62-year-old from Kherson was injured in the legs, and a 64-year-old had stomach injuries.

The United States purchased 60 Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns from Jordan for subsequent transfer to Ukraine. This was reported by De Telegraaf, citing its own sources. The United States paid 110 million euros for anti-aircraft guns, while seven years ago the Netherlands sold these German-made weapons to Amman for only 21 million euros.
