The head of the Ministry of Defense, Rustem Umerov, is preparing a proposal for the dismissal of three commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense is considering the possibility of dismissing three commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukrainskaya Pravda reported this on November 13, citing sources of the military-political leadership.
According to the sources of the publication, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov is preparing a proposal for the dismissal of the commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Tatyana Ostashchenko, the commander of the Tavria Operational-Strategic Group of Troops Alexander Tarnavsky and the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Naev.
It was noted that paramedics and volunteers providing medical support to the Defense Forces insisted on the dismissal of Ostashchenko.
The reasons for the possible dismissal of Tarnavsky, who heads one of the directions of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, were not reported.
Naev’s sources also did not specify the reasons for the dismissal. At the same time, according to UP, he could be one of the main defendants in the case about the defense of the Kherson region in 2022.
At the same time, one of UP’s interlocutors said that the issue of the resignation of these people has been considered for several months.
Let’s recall that earlier the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak said that the head of state Vladimir Zelensky will not fire the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. According to him, the political and military command of Ukraine has a unified position.
As you know, on November 6, in the village of Chaiki near Kiev, Gennady Chastyakov, former assistant of Zaluzhny, was killed by a grenade explosion. An unidentified device in a birthday present reportedly exploded. Criminal proceedings were initiated on this fact.
