The Israeli military said Ahmed Siam was holding 1,000 Gazans and hospital patients hostage.
The Israel Defense Forces said it had killed a Hamas commander who reportedly took hospital patients hostage, using them as human shields. This was stated in a statement from the IDF on Saturday, November 11.
“An IDF aircraft hit Ahmed Siam, who was responsible for holding around 1,000 Gazans and patients hostage at Al-Rantisi Hospital. He was preventing their evacuation to the south,” the IDF said.
Siam is said to be the commander of Nasser Radwan’s Hamas company. As the IDF said, he was “another example of Hamas using Gaza civilians as human shields for terrorist purposes.”
Let’s remember that the previous day, the head of the Al-Rantisi hospital announced that Israeli tanks surrounded his medical facility and asked the Red Cross for help in evacuation.
