“I have great respect for President Zelensky, but I believe that it would be inappropriate to go to Ukraine now,” Trump said in a statement, quoted by the Newsmax portal. “The Biden administration is now working with him, and I would not want to create a conflict of interest.”
Earlier, Zelensky, on NBC News, mentioned Trump’s statement that he could end the war in 24 hours if he became president. The Ukrainian president said he would need 24 minutes to prove to Trump that this was impossible.
If he can come here I will need […] 24 minutes to explain to Trump that during this time he will not be able to cope with the war. “He cannot ensure peace through Putin,” he said.
