Thus, Russian field commanders trade in military personnel. The cost of one mobilized one is estimated at several hundred dollars. This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), whose experts refer to the Russian publication “Important Stories” (iStories).
It is noted that the mother of a Russian conscript told reporters that her son was sold to the private military company Redut for 25 thousand rubles. ($272).
According to the woman, Russian Colonel Kozhanov sold one of his mobilized soldiers assigned to two military units of the 1440th mobilized regiment – military unit 29593 and military unit 29303 – to the separate sabotage and assault brigade “Veteran” (PVK “Redut”).
It is also reported that back in the spring of this year, relatives of the fighters of the 1440th mobilized regiment complained that the Russian command transferred parts of the regiment to the Veteran brigade.
