Satellite images show that Israeli troops are now trying to divide the Gaza Strip into two parts.
Israeli troops have surrounded Gaza City, a densely populated area in the Palestinian enclave. CNN reports this after analyzing satellite images and videos from open and official sources.
According to the publication, satellite images indicate that the IDF is now trying to divide the Gaza Strip into two parts. They approached the largest city in the Palestinian enclave from three sides – from the northwest, northeast and along the southern part of the settlement.
Israeli troops are reported to have advanced deeper along this western flank towards the sea, according to satellite images taken on Wednesday. Photos showed that Israeli forces were about a kilometer away from completely cordoning off Gaza City.
Satellite images, according to CNN, show traces of heavy equipment extending almost to the coast.
Satellite images and footage also show Israeli forces on Saladin Road, a highway that runs the length of the strip, apparently preventing anyone in Gaza City from moving south.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the IDF’s “remarkable achievements” after advancing out of Gaza City.
