The IDF surrounded the city in three directions: from the northwestern border of Gaza along the Mediterranean coast, from the northeast near Beit Hanoun, and from the east to the south of Gaza City, approaching the sea. This is evidenced by video materials released by the Israeli army and the Hamas group, as well as satellite images and videos from social networks, CNN reports.
CNN’s analysis of the images helps shed light on what’s happening on the ground as the Israel Defense Forces say they have surrounded the city, the story said.
The day before, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said that IDF forces had surrounded Gaza and the surrounding city from air, land and sea.
Let us recall that IDF Chief of Staff Hertz Halevi said on November 2 that the Israeli army is fighting very difficult battles in a densely populated and complex urban area.
